Jack O’Brien stopped Al Neill in the twelfth round at Woodward’s Pavilion, settling a contest that still divided the judges. Through eleven scored rounds, O’Brien led on two cards, 106–102 and 105–103. The third judge favoured Neill, 105–103.
Neill took the opening round on two of the three cards. O’Brien answered by taking the next three rounds, then Neill won the fifth and sixth. The cards were level again after the ninth, when Neill collected a unanimous 10–8 round. O’Brien won the tenth by a split vote and the eleventh on every card before delivering the knockout in the twelfth.
O’Brien won seven of the eleven scored rounds by the judges’ majority; Neill won four. The final round was not scored. The knockout, rather than the unfinished scorecards, is the official result.
The recorded finish is a knockout. Its exact time within round twelve and the specific finishing punch are unavailable.

Reading this replay
John Turnbull’s supplied fighter cards were used unchanged. Their career records are card context and do not enter ASN replay records. The printed Light Heavyweight class is retained as the game’s card category; no historical contracted weight or championship claim is asserted.
The 15-round replay limit is an explicit estimate from the archived bout listings. A separate contemporary notice confirming the original contracted distance was not located; record sources are not fully consistent. The historical police interruption was background context and was not scripted into this replay.
Three official bouts now appear in the Boxing archive. This January 5 backfill is UBX-000003; the existing McCoy–Maher and Dixon–McGovern IDs remain unchanged. ASN reaches 117 completed events. The Universe clock remains January 10, 1900.
