Waiheke Regatta · women’s single-person dinghies · four finishers
Miss Day takes first place in ASN’s women’s single-person dinghy replay, half a length ahead of Mrs. J. Pegler. Miss Ruth finishes third, 2½ lengths behind the winner, with Miss Trace fourth at three lengths.
| Place | Entrant | Margin behind winner |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Miss Day | Winner |
| 2 | Mrs. J. Pegler | ½ length |
| 3 | Miss Ruth | 2½ lengths |
| 4 | Miss Trace | 3 lengths |
All four boats complete the 40-turn replay. Final margins follow the adopted game’s expanded finishing convention; relative spaces are not measured metres or elapsed times.
The historical event
The New Zealand Herald’s January 2 report lists a race for one lady in dinghies no longer than 11 feet. Its course description runs from the flagboat at the south end of the beach and inside the flagboat at the north end. The report names Miss Ruth first, Mrs. J. Pegler second, Miss Day third and Miss Trace fourth in the following sentence, describing a closely contested race. Those historical placings are evidence, separate from ASN’s replay result above.
Three selected Waiheke women’s races are now complete: two-oar dinghies, keel-boats and single-person dinghies. The wider rowing and dinghy programme remains open. TEST rehearsals are excluded from official totals.
